2014 July

In June 2014 I enjoyed a ten-day Indonesian liveboard trip with Ron Hunter and his Quest Tours group aboard MSY Seahorse. The group had been split into two teams. My buddy Peter Brown and I were in the Blue Team or as I liked to call it: the A Team.

After Biak Island and the Fonokabi and Sewandei Islands our fourth destination was “Tanjung Ayemi and Busurua”. Our first dive was the wreck of a Zero World War 2 airplane located on the west side of Pulau Rippon, the second and third, both at Silver Lining proved to be highly enjoyable with plenty of macro life and lovely colourful sponge gardens. Our final dive was a night dive at Busurua where there was an outside chance of seeing Walking Sharks. Unusually for me on a night dive, I took my wide angle lens just in case I saw a Walking Shark. Of course I didn’t.
