I had thought that the proceeding two months Nelson Bay diving had been pretty special but January and February were even better. In addition to all the usual marine life there were Anglerfish in abundance and a special treat for me, Robust Ghost Pipefish.
Another special treat for me was a visit from my son, David who lives and works in Europe. We dived Fly Point together and then David and I hired MV Tomaree for a private cruise around the bay with Mary, our dog Bella and skipper Steve.
It’s not always peaceful in Nelson Bay, I kept bumping into Trudie Blackett of Feet First Dive Centre!
Most of my dives were solo dives but I was joined on some of them by a variety of buddies: my stepson Aaron Royal, Dani Coombes, my son David Nobbs, Kate Gagnon, Mick Todd, Rob Stewart, Brian and Jill Mayes and Trevor Howard.
