During January and February I enjoyed another 14 dives with Lets Go Adventures - we dived Cabbage Tree Island, Cod Rock, Looking Glass Island, North Rock Gutters and Shark Gutters.
The third dive provoked much debate between Mick Todd and I.
“Mick, we had two options for our afternoon dive. Option One, the Girly Option, was an easy clear visibility shore dive. Option Two was a boat dive in challenging visibility and colder water. What you might call a Man’s Dive. Mick, I know you wanted the Girly Option but sometimes you just have to be cruel to be kind so I booked us on the boat dive”.
“Malcolm, you could considered them to be the “Common Sense Dive” and the “Against Much Better Advice Dive. Right now, it’s blowing a gale outside Port Stephens heads and there is a large swell”.
Later Mick said that it had taken him 15 seconds after beginning the dive to conclude that I had made “a pretty **** decision!”
Fortunately when Mick returned to Nelson Bay three weeks later, we enjoyed fantastic conditions at North Rock Gutters and Looking Glass Island, with Emma Challen, one of the Let’s Go Adventures owners.
