The Rowley Shoals are a chain of coral atolls that rise nearly vertically from approximately 440 metres. 300 kilometres from the nearest land, Mick Todd and I had travelled there from Broome aboard The Odyssey.
Any trip with Mick is great fun and this was no exception as the trip video footage shows! It was a pretty humid trip though and even though I drank a lot of water, I still tore a calf muscle as I jumped in for our final dive. It was a grade 2 to 3 tear which was unfortunate as this was just the first of four WA dive locations. I had to miss the second ‘Perth’ but then Mick helped me dive the final two: ‘Exmouth Navy Pier’ in the Exmouth Gulf and ‘Busselton Jetty’.
