Dive photos will be uploaded soon
My dive buddy and guide for six dives at Ningaloo Reef, from the spacious and comfortable day boat Mahi Mahi II, was Norm Yixvan. When not looking out for marine life for me to photograph, Norm took video clips which I have condensed into a short video for this website.
We dived Blizzard Ridge, Gullivers, Hundreds and Thousands, Labyrinth (twice) and Razer. Without doubt the standout dive was at Blizzard Ridge. Conditions there were exceptionally good, a cloudless blue sky, calm sea, underwater visibility of 25 to 30 metres and a water temperature of 27 to 28 degrees. Highlights were Whitetip reef sharks, a pair of mating Oliver Sea snakes and in the far distant, either a Whitespotted Guitarfish or a large Wedgefish. Really the only fly-in-the-ointment was that as my Domeport’s o-ring was damaged, I had to use my wide-angle lens in my flat port which both limited the type of shots I could take and the image quality.
