In January Rob Stewart and I had one of my most disappointing Sydney dives! The underwater visibility at Manly Cove was 3 metres but in a slight swell there were so many particles in the water, photography was very frustrating.
In April Tomas Michell of Scubathlon kindly lead dives for Meagan Abele, Natalie Scadden, Rob Stewart and myself at The Monument, Kurnell National Park and Isolated Reefs and the East and North-West side of Bare Island. After that Mick Todd showed us juvenile Dusky Whalers at Shelly Beach, Manly. Later in the month I returned to Shelly Beach for another dive with Mick to photograph the juvenile Dusky Whalers and then dived Fairy Bower with Jon Shaw followed by a solo dive at Clifton Gardens.
The year wrapped up with two dives in December on the West side of Bare Island with Tomas Michell who introduced me to Pygmy Pipehorses. I had no idea these fascinating really small creatures even existed and certainly would not have found them without Tomas’ help.
