In September 2002 Eve and I returned to El Quseir for a two-week holiday, my regular UK dive buddy Graeme Hastings joining us for the first week. I had forgotten that the visibility at El Quseir can be disappointing although generally the visibility on this holiday was not too bad. However on one dive (Dive 545) the visibility was only around 2 or 3 metres in the shallows near the jetty! After Graeme left, Gaetan Ouimet, a French speaking Canadian, became my regular holiday dive buddy whenever Eve was not available. Gaetan's understanding of English matched my command of French, which is very poor! But once underwater we had no problem communicating! Again Eve and I very much appreciated the high standards and superb facilities of the Subex Dive Centre and the Mövenpick Resort and the two weeks went far too quickly.
